“We launched with zero online presence. Nine months later, conversions were up 22 times and cost per lead down 84%. Jigsaw built the whole thing — ads, SEO, content, reporting. They’re the reason we’re busy.”
Zero to southwest Sydney’s top storage performer.
Campbelltown Storage had no Google Ads history, no meaningful organic rankings and a website that wasn’t converting.
You’re launching digital marketing from scratch, or you have a website and minimal online presence and need a full funnel built from nothing.
The situation
When Campbelltown Storage came to us, they had no paid search history, almost no organic presence and a website generating a trickle of enquiries — mostly from people who already knew the name. In a market where nearby competitors had established Google presences and review profiles, they were effectively invisible to anyone searching for storage in the area. The brief was simple: build a digital marketing operation from nothing and make it produce move-ins quickly. The challenge was doing so without the historical data that normally informs campaign decisions from day one.
What we did
We started with a complete audit of the local search landscape — what keywords were driving traffic to competitors, where the keyword gaps were, and which unit types were under-served by existing campaigns in the area. Climate-controlled storage was being searched regularly with minimal competition for local ads. We built there first. The campaign architecture was built around unit types from day one — separate ad groups for small, medium, large and climate-controlled units, each with its own landing page matched to the specific search intent. Negative keyword lists were built from actual search query data for the Campbelltown area, cutting out the commercial and informational searches that were wasting budget elsewhere. Local SEO started in parallel: Google Business Profile fully optimised with photos, Q&A responses and weekly posts. Citations built across 40+ local and industry directories. Review generation sequences activated for every new move-in. Within three months, the facility was appearing in the top 3 map pack results for its core suburb keywords. Social retargeting was layered on once paid search was producing volume — targeting people who’d visited the website but hadn’t enquired, following them across Facebook and Instagram with move-in offers during the 3–14 day storage decision window.
What happened
The first major conversion spike came at week eight — earlier than most storage engagements. The combination of tight negative keywords, matched landing pages and a competitive climate-controlled offer drove the initial burst. By month three, conversions were up significantly from the baseline and CPL was dropping consistently as the campaign structure matured and the Google algorithm learned which searches converted. By month nine, Campbelltown Storage had 22× the conversion volume it had started with and an 84% lower cost per lead. The SEO investment compounded over the same period — organic traffic grew 10× from launch, and the facility now holds top 3 map pack positions for its core suburb keywords. The review volume generated through post-move-in sequences lifted their Google rating and improved their GBP click rate. The result is a self-reinforcing system: paid search generates move-ins, move-ins generate reviews, reviews improve map pack position, better map pack position generates organic enquiries that reduce paid search dependence over time.
